How Zaheer plays
At launch, the most useful short description for Zaheer is aerial specialist. That label is a starting route, not a claim that the character fits only one fighting-game category. The roster is young, and stronger player discoveries can change how a toolkit is used.
An air-dominant specialist who stays dangerous above the ground and uniquely calls active allies through his support set. The current entry estimate is advanced. That describes how quickly a new player can express the basic plan, not the fighter’s competitive ceiling.
What the kit is trying to reward
- Aerial mobility
- Unusual attack angles
- Active support assists
Zaheer support characters
Each launch fighter has three character-specific support choices. For most of the roster these supports alter move properties or add passive variation rather than appearing as traditional tag assists. Zaheer’s trio is the published exception: they act as active assists.
P’Li
An active assist rather than only a passive move modifier.
Ming-Hua
An active assist rather than only a passive move modifier.
Ghazan
An active assist rather than only a passive move modifier.
We list the confirmed mapping without assigning an unsupported “best” support. Matchup and patch evidence should decide that later.

Is Zaheer a good first main?
Zaheer can still be a first main, but the launch guides consistently point to a more technical entry. Choose the character for the playstyle, then learn one stable route before adding every option.
Compare the descriptor here against another fighter on the roster bench. A useful first choice is the plan you can describe clearly: get in, keep out, hold ground, set a trap, or control the air.
